I’m a mom who’s learning to crochet super-cute Amigurumi crochet and more.
Starting with ZERO skills in crochet I’ve decided to share the journey as I go. When my daughter asked me to create her some amigurumi cuties I asked the question “how hard is it to learn how to crochet”.
My plan with this blog is to share as I learn and I’ll be adding all the crochet tips for beginners I can find.
Now I’m on a mission to find out and share what I learn as I go.

Amigurumi Crochet Tips for Beginners:
Tip #1: Start with something EASY – Since you’re new to crochet you may not know what’s easy but look for something that LOOKS simple and fun to make.
Tip #2: Start with something FAST – Don’t pick a huge blanket as your first project! A fast project will give you a quick win so that you’ll want to do the next and the next.
Tip #3: Ask for help learning to read instructions. I asked ChatGPT which is an Artificial Intelligence program that answers your questions. You can get it here. Or maybe you know someone you can ask?
Tip #4: Use YouTube to learn stitches. After you learn how to read the pattern you’ll need to learn the stitches. Choose one at a time as you get to it and look it up on YouTube. You can see the videos I used to make my very first amigurumi axolotl in this post: Best way to learn crochet
